Touch, Sleep, Trains explores the tactile and intimate dimensions of train travel, countering the notion that transit spaces are experiential voids or 'non-places'. Derived from experiences of train travel in Japan in early 2018, this series employs a drifting, non-linear narrative in conjunction with visual images that push against the soft edge of abstraction. The images and text form part of a personal reverie on sensations of sleep and touch in particular, through a semblance of narrative which slips into remembering only to be interrupted by the present.
